Andy made his major league debut on September 14, 1942 with the Boston Red Sox. His career spanned 50 years in professional baseball. As a minor league manager he won 2,009 games with seven first place finishes. He was a major league coach from 1972 to 1975 with the San Francisco Giants.[1]
