The Midwest League played a 140 game, two-division, split-season schedule which began on April 9 and ended on September 3. The first half ended on June 20.
An All-Star Game was played on June 22 between All-Star Teams representing the league's Northern and Southern divisions. The North won by a 7-5 score.
A two-tier championship playoff was held after the season. The best-of-five championship round was won by Cedar Rapids.
Total 1992 attendance: 1,743,863.
