He works as a service station attendant during the off-season. His hobbies are fishing and hunting. He hit a grand slam home run in his second time at bat in pro ball with Great Falls in 1951. He led the 1951 Pioneer League third basemen in putouts with 133, assists with 362 and errors with 55. He tied for the lead in double plays for third basemen with 38 in the 1951 Pioneer League.
