• While at Georgia, he played with Joey Side.
• Appeared in the College World Series with Georgia in 2006.

Achievements

• Entered 2008 as the 10th-best prospect in the Diamondbacks organization, according to Baseball America.
• In 2007, h did not allow a home run until his 13th start, a span of 67 innings.
• Was named to the 2007 California League regular season all-star team.
