Walter (Ole) Karl Olsen is married and has two children and lives in Santa Barbara, California per the 1951 California League Gold Book (Third Edition). He served three years in the armed forces. He holds the California League record for best won-lost percentage of .909 set in 1942. He led the 1948 California League in innings pitched with 238, strikeouts with 246, complete games with 25 and earned run average of 2.16. He tied for the lead in shutouts with 4 in the 1948 California League.
