Chief Koy, of Indian ancestry, was a powerfully-built righthanded hitter with blazing speed. A Dodger regular in 1938 and 1939, he homered in his first ML at-bat (4/19/38). A son, Ernie Jr., playedor the pro football Giants, 1965-70.
