• Resided in Zanesville, Ohio in 1952.
• Self-identified as being of German ancestry.
• Listed hobby as keeping a scrapbook of his athletic activities.
• Hitting his first home run for Pittsburgh, a 375 foot drive which cleared the barriers at Forbes Field was his greatest thrill.
