Fred E. Fass is married and lives in Peoria, Illinois per the 1949 California League Gold Book. His nationality is German-Irish. He graduated from Woodruff High School in Peoria Illinois in 1942 and was a member of the school baseball team. He is a railroad worker during the off-season. He served in the U. S. Army Air Corps for 3 years. He led the 1946 Ohio State League in wild pitches with 21. He led the 1947 Pensylvania-Ontario-New York League in hit batsmen with 16. and was third in strikeouts with 155. He showed great improvement in control last season, hitting only 1 batter and being charged with 5 wild pitches.
