Jim Gillette left his legacy on the gridiron and not a baseball diamond. Drafted by the Green Bay Packers out of the University of VIrginia in 1940, Walker would go on to play for six seasons in the NFL and win a championship with the Cleveland Rams in 1945. His son, Walker, was a first-round pick of the San Diego Chargers in 1970.
