Melvin Russell Stein is single and lives in San Jose, California per the 1951 California League Gold Book (Third Edition). His nationality is German. He graduated from Napa High School in 1944 and played baseball, football and basketball. He is a graduate of San Jose State College and played varsity baseball and football. He served 18 months in the U. S. Navy. His brother, George Stein, pitched for Twin Falls in the Pioneer League last year.
