The Marion Marauders were a Class D minor league baseball team based in Marion, North Carolina. The 1952 Marauders compiled a record of 60-50 in the six-team Western Carolina League and finished the season in third place, 11 1/2 games behind the first place Lincolnton Cardinals. Marion was swept in the first round of the playoffs by Lincolnton.[1]
The Marauders were an independent team, as were most lower-level minor league teams in 1952, and had no working agreement with a major league team.
