Earl Peter Escalante is married with three children, Darryl age 15, Anita age 14 and Earlene age 7. Per the 1952 Pioneer League Index he lives in San Jose, California. He attended California Holy College. He was in the U. S. Army for one year. He is a brewery worker during the off-season.

As of 1952, he held the following California League pitching records -

He is the co-holder of the California League record for most games lost (20 in 1950)

He led the 1947 California League in wild pitches. He led the 1949 California League in games pitched, complete games and hits allowed. He led the 1950 California League in games pitched, innings pitched, complete games, runs allowed and earned runs allowed.
