Antonio (Tony) Freitas is married and has one son, Jack age 24. His lives in Sacramento, California per the 1951 California League Gold Book (Third Edition). His nationality is Portuguese. He is a carpenter during the off-season. His hobbies are hunting and fishing. His biggest thrill in baseball was striking out Babe Ruth while pitching for the Philadelphia Athletics. He pitched a no-hit, no-run game for Sacramento against Oakland on May 5, 1932. He led the Pacific Coast League in complete games with 31 in 1937, 32 in 1938 and 30 in 1939. He tied for the lead in complete games with 28 in the 1940 Pacific Coast League. He led the 1939 Pacific Coast League in shutouts with 9. He won a total of 228 games in the Pacific Coast League and won 20 or more games six years in a row, 1937-1942, inclusive. He led the 1950 California League in ERA with 2.56.
