After his playing career, he became a newspaperman, writing for the Irwin (PA) Standard, Monessen (PA) News, and the Uniontown (PA) Evening Genius. He worked for the Tri-State News Bureau in Pittsburgh before heading to California in 1911, where he served as sports editor of the Riverside Daily Press and Enterprise until 1932. He retired in 1936, but came out of retirement in 1942, and was an active reporter up until his death.[1]
