  • Played both baseball and basketball at Saint Louis University.
  • Member of the 1949 NIT Championship basketball team.

[edit] Outside of baseball

  • Played professional basketball for St. Louis, Chicago, and Washington.
  • In 1952, he went on tour with the United States All-Stars, playing games around the globe against the Harlem Globetrotters.
  • Began working for Washington and Lee University in 1959; served in many capacities, including soccer coach, baseball coach, and assistant basketball coach.
