  • In high school, lettered in baseball, basketball, football, and track.
  • Was named to all-league baseball and football teams, and all-Northern California football team.
  • Played freshman football at Fresno State.
  • in 1962, he received the "Signorelli Award" as the College of Marin's Athlete of the Year.
