Pre-professional career
- Was named all-state in baseball, football, basketball, and track in his senior year of high school.
- Was an All-American at California State Polytechnic University - Pomona and was named the school's "Athlete of the Year" in 1970.
Achievements
- Was "Player of the Year" in the 1970 New York-Pennsylvania League and also given the "Sherry Robertson" Award for the outstanding player in the Twins farm system.
- Was a top releiver in the 1974 Pacific Coast League with 56 appearances nad 16 saves for 1974 Tacoma.
- Led the 1976 Pacific Coast League with 16 complete games, 31 starts, and 219 innings pitched.
- Led the 1977 Pacific Coast League with 16 wins and 14 complete games for 1977 Hawaii.
- Traded on September 12, 1978 for Andrew Dyes.
Coaching
- Was pitching coach for Rochester from 1983 to June 1985, when he took over as the interim manager.
- Was chief pitching instructor for the entire Orioles farm system in 1986.
