I asked Lendell Fullerton about the Vernois-Braves. His response:

"I interviewed the two founding members of the Mt. Vernon Baseball Association, before thay passed away 1993. This is the story concerning the Vernois Braves. The Vernois Company in Mt. Vernon had a semi-pro baseball team in 1946 with the name Vernois displayed on the front of the uniforms. The Vernois Company donated the Vernois uniform to the Illinois State League Braves with the condition applied that the team will be known as the Vernois Braves."
