- The Midwest League played a 140 game, two-division, split-season schedule which began on April 3 and ended on September 1. The first half ended on June 15.
- An All-Star Game was played on June 17 between All-Star Teams representing the league's Eastern and Western divisions (Quad Cities was counted as an Eastern team). The West won by a 5-4 score in 10 innings[1].
- A three-tier championship playoff was held after the season, though the championship round was cut short at two games by foul weather. The championship was awarded to Burlington.
- Total 2008 attendance: 3,602,687.
