Alan (Al) Clarence Grandcolas is single and lives in Belleville, Illinois per the 1952 California League Gold Book (Fourth Edition). He graduated from Belleville Township High School in 1951 and participated in baseball, basketball and track. He was named to the all-state team in baseball and all-district in basketball. His high school won the state baseball championship. During the off-season he attends Belleville Junior College and works in a furniture store. He played for George E. Hilgard American Legion Post #58 of Belleville, who ranked third in the country in 1948.
