The American Association was a AAA league which operated from 1969 to 1997. It was formed from clubs from the International League and Pacific Coast League as a mid-continent league, though with a lineup somewhat further west than the older American Association. After 1997, the clubs in the league were again dispersed to the International League and Pacific Coast League.
