Biography of Charles Dooley from "Paterson and its Environs"

Birth-year uncertainty

Mr. Dooley's year of birth is unclear. Both the History of Paterson and its Environs and his obituary suggest that he was born in 1878 (the book explicity, the obituary by stating his age). However, this is clearly inconsistent with his playing career. His relative, in an email to SABR, stated that he was born in 1866, which is very plausible.
