He graduated from Hoover High School in San Diego in 1938 and played baseball, basketball and football. He attended San Diego State for two years and the University Of Montana for 1 1/2 years. He is a sales manager for Anaheim Pumice Tile Company during the off-season. His hobby is residential and commercial building design. His baseball ambition is to own a franchise. He served in the U. S. Navy for 3 1/2 years and while in service he played with the Fleet City Bluejackets. During his last year in high school he pitched four no-hitters.
