David Joseph Cunningham is married and has one son, Richard.  He lives in Bellflower, California per the 1952 California League Gold Book (Fourth Edition).  His nationality is English-Irish-Scotch.  He graduated from Excelsior High School in 1947 and played baseball, basketball and football.  He attended Fullerton Junior College and now attends the University of Utah during the off-season where he is in his senior year.  He played varsity baseball and football at both schools.  He led the conference in passing in 1948 while at Fullerton Junior college and in 1950 while at the University of Utah.  He played in the NCAA baseball tourney last year with Utah and hit three home runs.
