Dick Beall was signed by Bobby Mattick. He attended Santa Maria High School for whom he hit .481 with 12 home runs and 41 RBIs in 26 games. Mattick said he is as good a slugger as Eddie Matthews or Frank Robinson were at the same stages of their careers (Editorial comment- sorry I don't see dick Beall in the Hall of Fame,)
