Personal He is married and was residing in Milwaukee, Wisconsin in 1953. His nationality is German.
Pre-professional career He graduated from Messmer High School in 1948 and played baseball, basketball and football. He was selected to represent Milwaukee in the Hearst All-Star Game in New York in 1948. He is a graduate of the University Of San Francisco and has a B.A. degree and he played varsity baseball.
Outside of baseball He is a music teacher (accordion) during the off-season.
