Ernesto Sierra is married and has no children and lives in San Jose, California per the 1949 California League Gold Book. His nationality is Mexican. He graduated from Roosevelt High School in Los Angeles in 1942 and participated in baseball, football and track. He served in the U. S. Army Air Corps for 33 months. His baseball ambition is "just play". His brother, Charlie Sierra, was formerly a first baseman for San Jose and El Paso.
