Profile

Personal

• Resided in Sacramento, California in 1952.
• Self-identified as being of English-Danish ancestry.
• Worked four innings in his first game for Midland in the 1938 West Texas-New Mexico League,

 losing 5-2. 

• Helping Spokane win the Western International League title on the last day of the 1948 season was

 his greatest thrill; the club had been in the second division in mid-August, then won 45 of its
 last 56 games with Frank tossing the pennant-clincher.

Pre-professional career

• Attended Elk Grove, California High School.
• Was on the all-star diamond team for three years.

Achievements

• Set a new Western International League record whe he pitched 300 innings in 1948.
• Led the 1948 Western International League in complete games with 30.

Outside of baseball

• Is a truck driver during the off-season.
• Served in the U. S. Navy during World War II.
• His ship was sunk off the coast of Samoa and Frank and his buddies were in the water 48 hours

 before being rescued.
