Editing Help:Career timelines

Each person page has a '''career timeline''' which summarizes the roles in baseball in which a person participated.  Making changes or additions to this section is an advanced topic.  It is recommended that you become comfortable with basic Encyclopedia edits, and with using MediaWiki templates, before embarking on making changes to a career timeline.

Each career timeline has an ''Edit'' link in the header.  Clicking on the link will display a list of entries which is structured like this:

Each line in the page corresponds to one ''engagement'' for a person: a role the person participated in for some length of time.  Engagements should be listed in chronological order whenever possible.

The following role designators are supported in the Encyclopedia.  Typical required parameters are shown in the ''"Example''' column.  See the documentation for each engagement for additional supported parameters which can be used to specify further information.
