On August 7, 1941, Johnny Gorsica started a game for the Detroit tigers against the Cleveland Indians.  Gorsica had four hits in the game but did not get the decision as Tigers won the game in thirteen innings. Less than a month later 9/1/41, Gorsica came into a game as a relief pitcher with the Tigers trailing the St Louis Browns 7-0. The Tigers rallied to win the game and Gorsica had four hits in that game, also.
