- In Remy's first pro game he doubled to win the game.
- Hitting three home runs in one game is his greatest thrill.

- Attended New Iberia High School.
- Was a top boxer in high school.
- Had a scholarship to Louisiana State University in boxing but the U.S. Marine Corps beckoned him first.

- Led the 1951 Evangeline League in home runs with 42 and that set a new League record.

- Played at New Iberia in the Evangeline League in 1942, before the league was disbanded.
- Was in the Marines from 1943-1945 and did not play professional baseball.
