Clem, do you know if it is somehow supposed to mean wins?
Clem:James specifically said VAM doesn't represent wins or anything. It appears to be a little more than a win share. I have the VAM totals for the also-rans in AL West 1980. Wins were 77, 76,70,65,59 while sum of VAMs 136,151,133,140,122.
