Johnson is single and lives in Taft, Californa per the 1952 California League Gold Book (Fourth Edition).  He graduated from Avenal High School and played baseball and basketball.  He attended the University Of Southern California, Fullerton Junior College and San Jose State.  He graduated from San Jose State and now does post-graduate work there during the off-season.  He played baseball at all three colleges and basketball at the University Of Southern California and Fullerton Junior College.  The high spot of his college career came last year when he hit a grand slam homer in the tenth inning to give San Jose State a 6-2 win over its traditional rival, College Of The Pacific.  He is the second cousin of the late Walter Johnson, great major league pitcher.	+	{{person-narrative-stub}}
