Benjamin (Bill) Earle Downs is single and lives in Detroit, Michigan per the 1952 California League Gold Book (Fourth Edition). His nationality is German-English. He graduated from Northern High School and played baseball and basketball. He is an adding machine adjuster during the off-season. His hobbies are hunting and bowling. He served in the U. S. Army for 8 1/2 months. His biggest thrill in baseball came on opening night of the 1952 season when he hit three home runs in one game (Fresno against San Jose), tying a league record.
