  • Father, John Jackson is an actor who portrayed Admiral A.J. Chegwidden on the television series "JAG."
  • Was one of four players to maintain an Arizona Fall League (AFL) journal for MLB.com during his time in the 2004 AFL.
  • Missed much of the 2009 season because of illness, including a case of Valley Fever.[1]

  • Played for the US National team in 2002.

Achievements

  • Was a third team All-American pick by Baseball America in his senior year at Cal, in which he batted .388 with 10 HRs, 44 RBI and a PAC-10 leading .538 on-base percentage.
  • In 2003, he was the Northwest League's Most Valuable Player. and chosen as an outfielder on Baseball America's short-season All-Star team.
  • In 2004, he participated in the All-Star Futures Game in Houston and was recognized by Baseball America as a mid-season High Class A ( Lancaster) and the California League's Best Hitting Prospect. He then tied for the Arizona Fall League lead in home runs (8).
  • In 2005, he finished second in the Pacific Coast League in on-base percentage (.457) and fourth in batting average (.354). Was selected as the starting first baseman for the PCL at the Triple-A All-Star Game and for the U.S. squad at the All-Star Futures Game.
  • In 2006, his first hit as a pinch-hitter was a game-winning home run on July 30 vs. Houston. He had 38 multi-hit games for the Diamondbacks.
  • In 2007, HIt a team-leading .308 after the All-Star break. His .555 slugging percentage and .371 on-base percentage ranked second on the Diamondbacks. In the post-season, he hit .125 in the NLDS vs. the Cubs and .333 in the NLCS vs. Colorado.
