Little Rock Daily Arkansas Gazette, September 20, 1876, reports that the Southeast Arkansas Fair, to be held October 4-6 in Monticello, will feature a “base-ball match.”

Monticello AR is about 90 miles S of Little Rock and about 50 miles N of the Louisiana border.
