The San Francisco Bulletin, Feb. 20, 1877: "Mokelumne Hill, Calaveras County, is happy at last. A base ball club has been established at that center of mining industry."
Mokelumne Hill CA (current pop. under 700)is about 50 miles SE of Sacramento.
