Peter Morris et. al., eds., "Base Ball Pioneers, 1850-1870," pp. 319-321, says that Oakland had a Live Oak BBC in 1866, and a Wide Awake BBC in 1867.
Oakland CA had a populaton of about 1,500 in 1860 and 10,500 in 1870.
