The San Francisco Bulletin, April 28, 1870: "Base Ball Tournament--Today a base ball match will be played at San Mateo, between the St. Mary's College boys and the students of Santa Clara College."
St. Mary's was then located about 4 miles east of San Francisco. The college still exists today, but has moved to another location.
