The Atlanta Daily Constitution, June 18, 1876 reports that the Athletics of Rome beat the Crawfords of Dalton 32-21 on June 17th.
Dalton GA (1870 pop: 1800, 1880 pop: 2500) is in the hilly NW corner of Georgia, about 80 miles NW of Atlanta.
