The Hawaiian Gazette, Aug. 7, 1896, under the headline "Base Ball Craze Strikes Hilo" reports that the Hilo BBC beat the Holomuas 38 to 28, the third straight win of the Hilos over the Holomuas. The game was played at the Hilo Boarding School Grounds. Same July 17, 1896, reports on a July 4th game at Hilo between the Lanakilas and the Holomuas, won by the latter 25 to 12.
