The Chicago Inter Ocean, July 20, 1877: "Lawndale. The Atlantic Base Ball Club of Lawndale is organized for the season..." The Chicago Inter Ocean, Sept. 15, 1877: "Austin. The base ball club goes to Lawndale to meet the celebrated nine of that suburb." Lawndale is today a part of Chicago.
