The Edwardsville Intelligencer, Aug. 21, 1873 says the Independents of Edwardsville played the Invincibles of Bethalto. Same Oct. 9, 1873 says the Bethalto team played the Cahokias of Edwardsville. Bethalto is in Madison County, IL, near Edwardsville.
