Chicago Tribune, April 11, 1875: "Palatine... The Base Ball Club has organized, and the following officers are elected..." Rest of article names the officers. The Chicago Inter Ocean, Aug. 24, 1877, mentions the Palatines of Palatine playing baseball against the Pastimes of Chicago. Palatine is today a northwest suburb of Chicago. Starting in 1875, the Tribune increased its reporting of suburban news.
