"The base ball mania is raging here worse than the cholera ever did. Four clubs are already organized. The Egyptian Club has challenged the Independent Club to play a match game. The challenge has been accepted. The contest is to take place on Thursday afternoon, September 6th. The occasion will no doubt be one of interest to the lovers of this manly game, which is becoming so universally popular throughout the land."
