The NY Mercury, July 22, 1860, headline "Base Ball Among the Hoosiers" reported that an Evansville team "has played very good practice games of late."
The Cincinnati Daily Gazette, Aug. 15, 1867 reports that Evansville has 7 base ball clubs, including the Resolutes, which beat Owensboro (KY) 59-21 "this morning" (Aug. 12).
Evansville is about 150 miles east of St. Louis MO and about 100 miles west of Louisville KY.
