The Ionia BBC is the first club listed in Ionia County in Peter Morris' Baseball Fever (2003). Also listed are the Wolverine Club of Ionia, Custer Club of Ionia, Defiance Club of Saranac, Lyons BBC, and Otisco Club of Cooks Corner.
Ionia MI (current pop. about 11,400) is about 125 miles NW of Detroit and 35 miles NW of Lansing. Wikipedia adds: "Every late July . . . it hosts what may be the world's largest free-admission fair."
