The St. Louis Globe Democrat, Aug. 7, 1875: "Suburban. St. Charles, Mo. The Brown Sox won a victory by large figures over a picked nine Tuesday..." Same Aug. 11, 1875 mentions the Brown Sox of St. Charles beating the "Hamburgs" at Mechanicsville.
St. Charles is about 20 miles west and north of St. Louis.
