"The first base ball club was organized, and among its members were Maj. A. P. Morey, Ben. Lyon, E. H. Renish, and John Scheer."
Sedalia is western MO, about 90 miles SE of Kansas City and about 50 miles SW of Columbia MO. Its population in 1870 was about 4500.
