The Lone Star Club of Rochester was announced in August 1858. It won the city championship in 1860 in a July contest with the Live Oak Club. Undefeated, the club played the Niagara Club of Buffalo for the championship of Western New York state in`September. The Rochester club prevailed, 32-10.
